The service

Book in Hour turns an EPUB you upload into an audio retelling in the language you choose, and answers your questions about it. The retelling and the answers are written by AI. They can be incomplete or wrong, and are not a replacement for the book.

Your books

• You may upload only books you own or have the right to use in this way, for example a copy you bought or a work in the public domain.
• You must not upload anything you do not have the right to copy, and you must not bypass copy protection.
• You keep all rights you have in your books. You are responsible for what you upload.

Generated audio is for personal use

The audio and text we generate are a derivative of your book and are for your own private listening. You must not share, publish, stream to others, sell or redistribute them, or use them to build a competing service.

Not allowed

• Uploading unlawful content, or content that infringes someone else's rights.
• Trying to access other people's data, or to disrupt or overload the service.
• Automated or bulk use, and reselling access.

Free tier and purchases

The first 3 episodes are free. After that you can buy a single book for $1.99 or subscribe for $9.99 per month, which includes 11 books each month. Prices can vary by country and include taxes where required.

Payment is taken by Apple or Google, under their terms. A subscription renews automatically each month until you cancel it, at least 24 hours before the renewal date, in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. Deleting the app does not cancel it. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google.

Takedown requests

If you are a rights holder and believe a book was uploaded without permission, write to [email protected] with the title, what you own, and how to reach you. We will look at it promptly and remove the content where the claim is valid. We may suspend accounts that repeatedly upload material they have no right to.

Ending the service

You can stop at any time and delete your account. We may suspend or end access if these terms are broken.

Liability

The service is provided as it is, without promises about accuracy or availability. To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to what you paid us in the last 12 months. Nothing here limits rights you have by law as a consumer.
